Enrollment on a fee-paying basis
- those who took part in the selection process of the current year for state educational grants and met minimum admission requirements for NUFYP ET and IELTS (TOEFL) examinations; however, they were included in the waiting list without receiving a grant;
- those who register on the admissions.nu.edu.kz portal and who independently passed the tests and met the minimum admission requirements indicated below:

1) SAT Reasoning Test with essay - 1530 (up to 2016), 1100 (starting from March 2016). Writing part is required with no minimum score. either ACT with writing part – minimum overall score not less than 22. Writing part is required with no minimum score.
2) SAT Subject Test - Math and Physics - 550 for each subject
3) IELTS - 6.0 (5.0 in each section) either TOEFL iBT – 60-78 (4-7 in Reading section; 4-6 in Listening
section; 14-15 in Speaking section; 14-17 in Writing section)

The above-mentioned applicants must submit the following package of documents to the University:
1) filled out additional application form;
2) a notarized copy of identity card or passport
3) for Applicants under the age of 16 years - a certificate of birth and an original copy of a statement from educational institution with a photograph;
4) a notarized copy of nationally recognized certificate stating completion of a secondary school, technical, vocational or post-secondary school or university or IB (International Baccalaureate) diploma or bachelor’s degree certificate or diploma of a specialist with transcript (if available at the time of document submission);
5) an original copy of valid IELTS or TOEFL certificate. Original screenshot from the official website of the TOEFL administrating institution (followed by submission of an original copy by deadlines set by the Admission Committee);
6) 086-U form medical certificate made not earlier than January 1st of the year of its submission to the University;
7) an original copy of fluorographic image made not later than one year before it is submitted to the University;
8) 2 copies of 063-U form vaccination card or vaccination passport;
9) copies of certificates of achievements, letters of recognition and awards received for the last 3 years during the study and other documents confirming Applicants’ personal achievements, if available;
10) an original copy of signed consent to personal data processing;
11) the foreign citizens or stateless individuals only - a copy of an insurance policy on health insurance valid for the entire study term.
Applicants with SAT or ACT results meeting the above-mentioned criteria in the table additionally shall present:
12) an original copy of valid SAT Reasoning Test or ACT with writing part or electronic copy of it (followed by submission of an original copy by deadlines set by the Admission Committee);
13) an original copy of valid SAT Subject Test indicated in the table above or electronic copy of it (followed by submission of an original copy by deadlines set by the Admission Committee except for the Applicants applying to School of Humanities and Social Sciences).
All documents submitted to NU are not subject to return. The deadlines for submission of the documents will be announced later.
The Applicants recommended for admission on a fee-paying basis shall notify about their acceptance or waiving the offer to study in the NU Foundation Year Program at the Centre for Preparatory Studies .
In
case of offer acceptance, the Applicants should pay refundable
enrollment deposit in an amount of 30 000 tenge. The enrollment deposit
will be reimbursed upon signing of the contract between enrolled
Applicant and NU.
