Programs in the Graduate School of Education (GSE) at Nazarbayev University are highly selective, and there is a competitive application process. In order to be considered for admission to Master’s programs, an individual must have completed an undergraduate university degree, high motivation and academic performance, be able to demonstrate a level of English proficiency sufficient to allow her or him to work in an English-medium academic environment.

Applicants are required to submit the following documents in English or with a notarized English translation before the deadline:

1) Completed application form. An online application form is available at the website;

2) Notarized copy of identity card or passport of the candidate;

3) Official copy of diploma and transcript (or equivalents) from a full-time undergraduate education.

Applicants who obtained degree diplomas (or its equivalents) from foreign educational institutions must request their official final transcripts to be sent directly to the Nazarbayev University;

4) Official IELTS certificate with an overall score 6.5 (with no score below 6.0 in any element) or TOEFL equivalent, valid as of commencement of the program.

Applicants who obtained a university level degree in an educational institution with English as the language of instruction located in the country where English is an official language may be considered as exempt from the English language proficiency test requirements;

5) Applicants may submit a copy of either GRE or GMAT scores;

6) A personal statement explaining the reasons for applying to the program, and how the program fits into applicant’s long-term career aims; 

7) Two letters of recommendation from individuals who are able to comment on the abilities of the candidate in academic and/or professional settings and are familiar with the applicant’s achievements and future aspirations.
